Undergraduate Program

The Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies integrates a traditional music core curriculum and private classical applied lessons with jazz courses including jazz improvisation, jazz arranging, small and large jazz ensembles, master classes, recitals and private jazz performance instruction with some of the region's best professional jazz performing artists. A study of the Music Industry sets the stage for future careers, and VCU's urban campus offers opportunities for students to play in area club settings.
